Schizophrenia Tests – Evaluations Of Behavior

Schizophrenia is a brain disorder which is quite misunderstood. Many people think it resembles split personality, which is not the case. This is a psychotic disorder, which is far from mood disorders as well. Psychotic disorders generally relate to loss of connection from the reality. In schizophrenia, a person loses the ability to differentiate between real and imaginary things, objects, occurrences and even people. Due to the unusual behavior, a schizophrenic can be identified without tedious effort, yet there are some schizophrenia tests which enable detection of the disease in a person. This test can be a questionnaire which can be provided with answers by the suspected victim, either in simple Yes or No, and with some explanation. Or one of the family members or friends of the victim can track the behavior of the person and check the items on the list of symptoms which hold true in the case of those people. Let us check out some of these

  • Schizophrenic listen and see things, people, and incidences which others cannot.
  • They think and believe that all what they feel or think is being controlled by others.
  • They find little interest or no fondness in doing things which they used to previously.
  • Schizophrenics are often under the impression that they have supernatural or magical powers, which makes them different and unique.
  • They find their thinking to be confused and confusing.
  • Voices and people keep revolving in their heads which they find talking to them or giving them some indication of the future mishaps.
  • They think people around them are planning and plotting against them.
  • Schizophrenics prefer to stay alone most of the times.
  • They themselves begin to think that their behavior has something to do with abnormality, like others.
  • They are found talking to themselves, but they think they are talking to some person which is actually imaginary.

These were few of the observations that the schizophrenia tests need to evaluate. If more than 50 % of these are correct, then the suspected schizophrenic needs help and must be taken to a psychiatrist. There are other schizophrenia tests, such as blood test, hypnosis, etc. It is very important to take care of schizophrenics as they can be harmful to the life of others as well as themselves.
