Histrionic personality disorder falls under the grouping of dramatic personality disorders. Sufferers of this disorder will have intense emotions which seem extremely unstable; and the disorder is characterized by distorted images of self. When people suffer from this disorder, they end up basing their self-esteem on how people around them approve of them; indicating that their self-esteem isn’t based on their true worth, as normally is the case.
